I grew up around bees and have never been afraid of them. I haven't been stung since I was a kid, and those times were my own fault for "messing" with them. I don't think that people realize how important bees are to our food production. In a previous post on 4/25/08, I mentioned the Sunflower Project, which focuses attention on bees. As the sponsors of the project say: Bees: Responsible For Every Third Bite of Food. <BR/>AiyanaAiyanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04525758484165324330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2762406526511639297.post-37026468757691939602008-05-11T10:21:00.000-05:002008-05-11T10:21:00.000-05:00I've read that bees are pretty docile in the sprin...I've read that bees are pretty docile in the spring and more aggressive in the fall. We regularly see several different varieties including honey bees. I would love to keep them and have a very old and pretty hive in my garden, but I use it to store my hand tools! Really interesting post, thanks for sharing :-)Zoëhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09838367166662822058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2762406526511639297.post-51637203494108951982008-05-04T09:54:00.000-05:002008-05-04T09:54:00.000-05:00Great post. I tell them that a bee generally will not sting unless you disturb the hive. If they are visiting flowers they are not defensive.Aunt Debbi/kurts momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05663049154538571378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2762406526511639297.post-82767396291804183072008-05-03T21:53:00.000-05:002008-05-03T21:53:00.000-05:00Wonderful post!
